A little backstory…
I made this planner because I needed it first.
I found myself doubling the work I needed to do. I was constantly writing sticky notes and lists, on top of all the lesson planning and scheduling I was already doing. It was so hard to keep up with everything.
That’s why I created the Simply Perfect Planner for School Counselors. It’s made by me (a school counselor!) for you, so I know how hectic things can get. I want you to be as organized and stress-free as you can be.
I used mine all year, and at the end it was amazing to see how much work got accomplished. I had so much data and so many examples of improvement to show my principal. Let’s just say… she took my data to the school board!

The Time-Task Analysis is built right in
This is the most important feature of the planner. It’s as easy as writing out your schedule like you normally would and putting a time task code next to it. Then you have data to show administration where you spend your time each day, week, month, and your entire year.
There’s an easy user guide inside, so there’s no complicated learning curve.
Four weekly versions: 30 min schedule, 30 min with alternating gray sections, 15 min schedule, and 15 min with alternating gray sections.
Write out your schedule
Fill in your week in the weekly scheduler, just like a normal schedule.
Add a TTA code
Give each part of your day one of five codes. The how-to page shows you exactly how to code it.
Total it up
Daily and monthly TTA totals show where your time went. I like to turn mine into counseling stats for my principal each semester.

Hi, I’m Jessica!
I’m an elementary school counselor, district counseling director, and the creator behind Simply Imperfect Counselor. I started out as a PK assistant, then taught 1st grade before becoming a school counselor in rural Missouri. I’m also a published author and curriculum writer.
After nearly two decades in education, I’ve learned one thing: school counselors don’t need to work harder. They need better systems! This planner is one of those systems.
When I’m not at school, you’ll find me baking, hanging out with my two kids and my charmingly funny husband, or heading to the beach (and everywhere else for that matter)!

What is a Time-Task Analysis?
It’s a simple way to see where your time is being spent. You write out your schedule like normal and put a time task code next to each part of your day. Over time, that becomes data you can share with administration.
What do the TTA codes stand for?
There are five: CC (Counseling Curriculum), RS (Responsive Services), SS (System Support), IP (Individual Student Planning) and NC (Non-Counseling Duty).
I’ve never tracked my time before. Will this be hard?
Not at all! The planner includes a How-To page for filling out the Weekly TTA Schedule, so there’s no complicated learning curve.
